Dual Language PreK & VPK
Dual Language PreKindergarten Program
7:30am to 3:00pm or 7:30am to 5:30pm
both sessions include free 3 hour State VPK program
We are excited to offer our Prekindergarten students the opportunity to be part of a Dual Language program. This PreK setting is designed to encourage children to become bilingual, speaking comfortably in both English and Spanish in everyday settings. Research indicates that children who are adequately exposed to two or more languages at an early age experience significant gains. Dual Language instructors are completely fluent in both languages.
In the morning lessons and activities will be taught in English, the afternoon’s instruction is conducted in Spanish. This exciting approach to prekindergarten education qualifies for the State VPK tuition credit.
Our experienced ECS staff involves parents in activities and special events. We believe this program helps prepare our four-year-old students to be a part of the global community.
Programs included in your child’s class schedule!
Music Program
Infants through Prekindergarten students receive instruction in rhythm, musical movement, finger play songs, and faith based songs for chapels. We have two very special Music recitals that the students perform in. The first is in December for the Christmas musical and the second is in the spring for our Spring musical. Older students will receive instruction in note reading, rhythm, and beats.
Physical Education
In addition to playground time, students in our Prekindergarten and VPK programs participate in weekly physical education in our Elementary & Middle school gymnasium.
Physical Education class integrates fundamental body movements with music and games using age appropriate equipment. Doing an obstacle course, working together in teams or as partners to accomplish a task is a fun and motivating way for children to get moving.
Our curriculum introduces hockey, soccer, baseball,, basketball,, schooping and catching balls. Playing games like “hot hoops”, “Mr. Shark, Mr. Shark”, and running are ways we make Physical Education Fun!
