Advent Lutheran FLL Qualifying Tournament

Food

Coffee and donuts will be available for purchase from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Our concessions will have snacks and drinks available for purchase by teams from 8:00 a.m. until the start of the awards ceremony. Lunch will be available for teams and will consist of pizza (by the slice and/or by the whole pizza). Lunch can be pre-ordered using the pre-order form. Pre-orders will be accepted until competition day at team check in, after that, slices will be available for purchase. All food sales will be cash only. 

Raffles

There will be several raffles, including lots of Lego sets! There will also be a door prize and a 50-50 raffle. All raffle tickets will be paid by cash.

Raffle Ticket Prices:

  • 1 ticket for $2.00
  • 3 tickets for $5.00
  • 15 tickets for $10.00

What to bring with you

  • Please bring the following required documents with you to the registration desk when checking in:
    • 4 copies of your FLL team information forms
    • 1 copy of your FLL team roster  
  • Extension cord and power outlet strip - we will have limited outlets available but not all will be close to all tables.
  • Game elements that are not secured to the mat with dualock velcro will not be on the practice table. Each team will need to bring in their own (octopus, people, blocks, car, truck, recycle green bins, compost puck, plastic bags, etc).
  • Cash for food sales and raffle tickets, ATMs are not available on campus but there are banks in the surrounding area.
  • FUN ATTITUDE, GRACIOUS PROFESSIONALISM, AND COOPERTITION! 

Tentative Schedule

8:00 - 8:30 a.m.                Registration

8:30 - 8:45 a.m.                Coach's meeting

8:50 - 9:00 a.m.                Opening Ceremony

9:15 a.m.                            Judging begins

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.   Approximate lunch break

With 14 teams, we should be done with the morning and afternoon judging and robot performance by about 2:00 p.m. The awards and closing ceremony will happen as soon as the judges are done with their deliberations.

The schedule does include a practice round for your team. This round will NOT count in your team's standings.

A detailed schedule will be provided at registration.

Campus map/parking

The registration is in the school's gym on the south side of the campus. The closest parking to the gym entrance is on Dixie Highway on the west side of the school building. There will be signs posted to direct you to the registration area.

Practice Field Policy

There will be a practice field set up in the pit area for teams to fine-tune their coding. The only game elements that will be on this field are the larger items that are secured to the mat with dualock velcro. If it is not secured to the table, as listed above in the items to bring with you, it will not be on the practice table. Please plan to bring your own if you need these items to practice.

Money

  • If you have not yet paid registration, please bring your team registration (check or cash) to registration table.
  • Please bring amount for your pre-order lunch form.
  • Spending money (cash) for concessions and raffle tickets!
